Envision Center Data VISTA
 
 
 
Come make a difference in the City of Hartford as a Data Development & Evaluation VISTA for the Envision Center at Parker Memorial Center. The Envision Center is a centralized hub that supports the four key pillars of self-sufficiency: Economic Empowerment, Educational Advancement, Health and Wellness, Character, and Leadership. The work at the Envision Center support the ongoing Promise Zones initiative. The federal government is investing & partnering with “high-poverty, high capacity” communities in the country & supporting the implementation of neighborhood revitalization strategies focused on (1) job creation + economic development (2)increased access to quality, affordable housing, (3) expanded educational opportunities, (4) improved public safety & (5) improved health outcomes. Promise Zone benefits include technical assistance, federal staff support, & access to preference points for existing federal grant programs. To date, the North Hartford Promise Zone (NHPZ) has brought in over $19 million in federal grants to help accelerate efforts in the 5 goal areas. Under the executive leadership of the Mayor, the City is working in partnership with various stakeholders to advance neighborhood revitalization & create a safe prosperous future for residents.

Member Duties : Data Development & Evaluation VISTA (Envision Center) will: 1. Identify and support the funding needs of the Envision Center at Parker Memorial 2. VISTA Cohort goal of infusing at least $10 million dollars into the North end of Hartford. 3. Participate in data and evaluation activities that support the Envision Center strategic plans through the development of recommendations, standard operating procedures, and databases to create self-sustaining entities.
