Americorps VISTA- IMPACT Fresno

First 5 IMPACT (Improve and Maximize Programs so All Children Thrive) is an innovative approach that forges partnerships between First 5 California and counties. The goal is to help children ages 0 to 5 and their families thrive by increasing the number of high-quality early learning settings, including supporting and engaging families in the early learning process. First 5 Fresno County (F5FC), in partnership with Fresno County Office of Education (FCOE), serves as the lead for the Fresno County IMPACT grant which is structured around Fresno County's child care Quality Rating and Improvement System (Fresno County Early Stars). In addition, First 5 Fresno County has been selected by regional partners to house the regional IMPACT Hub, providing regional support to six additional counties. Both roles build upon a strong history of quality improvement work in Fresno County. The IMPACT VISTA will support and assist lead staff to achieve objectives set forth in the IMPACT and IMPACT Hub grants.

Member Duties : The IMPACT VISTA will assist in building the capacity of First 5 Fresno County, Fresno County Office of Education and partners to implement the Fresno County IMPACT and Regional IMPACT grants. These grants are aimed at raising the quality of early care and education services throughout Fresno County and regionally. Our VISTA will bring a new perspective to the team and help us develop an outreach plan to enroll early childhood programs for participation in IMPACT services and activities. Our member will play a role in finding evidence-based solutions to increase provider participation and assisting with asset mapping to track communities where early childhood sites are participating in IMPACT activities to indicate growth and shortage within communities. By identifying strategies to promote and improve parent and community engagement as well as establishing partnerships and leveraging resources our VISTA will significantly improve the lives of children and families in Fresno County.
