MNA 2017 - Wayne County College Access Network

As a VISTA with the Wayne County College Access Network, you help to build a college-going culture within the school districts of Wayne County, mobilize local resources to have a greater impact on college attainment rates, and lower barriers preventing students from going to college. You’ll also be responsible for encouraging the coordination of college access services to students, particularly low-income and first generation students. In 2013, only 15.3% of Wayne County high school juniors met or exceeded the college ready benchmark. The VISTA will be a significant part of the work that is needed to get Wayne County high school kids prepared for college. Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves its nonprofit members to advance their missions. MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative.
