Member Duties : The VISTA would first gain an understanding of anti-poverty organizations in Indiana, and compare Indiana’s programs to those of other states. The VISTA would research national self-sufficiency initiatives as well as Indiana’s Family Development program which was designed to aid in self-sufficiency. From that research the VISTA would work with staff to develop and implement a plan to address intergenerational poverty. Lastly, the VISTA would research and create a resource development toolkit for agencies to attract monetary and volunteer support.
