WSC, Clark County Enviro. Services, Environmental Educator

Waste is unavoidable, but we can all do our part to help. Starting to notice how many one-time use and disposable products we use in our lives is a first step. Making adjustments to our purchasing habits, with an eye for these throw-away products and packaging, is the next step. WasteBusters increases participants knowledge about environmentally conscious practices through an on-line pledge to practice the behavior change for three weeks to better protect the environment. Waste-busting actions including: bringing reusable bags to the grocery store, designating one day a week to eat leftovers, or using reusable beverage containers for to-go drinks. This social marketing based program currently engages our county residents at home and can be expanded to schools and our Green Businesses. Primarily website based, there is lots of room for creativity and development of new project concepts. This position is contingent on funding.
