Jersey City Mentoring Coaliton

About Jersey City Mentoring Collaborative Jersey City Mentoring Collaborative’s (JCMC) mission is to increase the number of underserved Jersey City students that successfully attain a college degree. JCMC is comprised of New Jersey City University, Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), Jersey City Youth Council, Board of Education, and nonprofits. 95% of students in BBBS’ mentoring program graduate high school. JCMC seeks to expand this program by training New Jersey City University undergraduates to mentor 1,000 K-12 students in 3 years. This is a New Jersey Campus Compact Statewide Collective Impact AmeriCorps VISTA Project. With our college and university partners, New Jersey Campus Compact is building a cohort of AmeriCorps VISTA members to support the anti-poverty work of 14 large-scale, cross-sector organizations focused on increasing education, economic opportunity, and healthy futures in NJ’s underserved urban areas. We seek a qualified, civic-minded individual to be the AmeriCorps VISTA serving at Jersey City Mentoring Collaborative.
