MNA 2017 - Communities in Schools of Michigan #1

As a VISTA with Communities in Schools of Michigan (CIS), you’ll continue the work already started to recruit and maintain tutor and mentor volunteers, work with Site Coordinators to establish community partnerships, and coordinate Days of Service projects within schools. In Michigan, CIS works with students in 13 counties, with an average of 82% free and reduced lunch. In Lansing, 2 of the 3 CIS schools are at 100%. CIS Michigan would be unable to achieve their goals without VISTAs, both in bringing attention to those numbers and in alleviating the barriers that accompany them. Michigan Nonprofit Association (MNA) is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves its nonprofit members to advance their missions. MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative.
