L.A. Works Volunteer Corps
 
 
 
L.A. Works will be placing passionate, dedicated, highly motivated individuals in nonprofit organizations throughout Los Angeles. The VISTA member will assess their host site's volunteer program, create a plan to enhance any areas in need of improvement, and implement new systems and processes to strengthen the volunteer program. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be a self-starter who can multi-task, and have experience working in nonprofits or with nonprofit volunteers. Host Site Organizations: A Community of Friends, Baby2Baby, DIY Girls, Education Through Music, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA), L.A. Member Duties : Responsibilities Include: •Thoroughly assess host site’s volunteer program; •Identify new, creative volunteer roles at host site; •Conduct targeted recruitment efforts online and offline to improve volunteer matches and increase the number of volunteers placed at host site; •Contribute to quarterly and annual grant reporting; •Attend monthly meetings and trainings at L.A. Works; •Serve as a Project Leader at L.A. Works special days of service; •Meet multiple deadlines and benchmarks set by L.A. Works and the AmeriCorps grant
