Breakthrough Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Breakthrough Greater Boston (BTGB) is a year-round, tuition-free program that offers six years of a academically intensive out-of-school time services to highly motivated, traditionally underserved middle and high school students in greater Boston. Unique to Breakthrough is the Students Teaching Students model which offers diverse, high achieving college and high school students the opportunity to teach classes, while benefiting from professional mentorship and research-based training. After operating in Cambridge for more than 20 years, BTGB has opened a new site in Dorchester. This expansion will double the number of students and teachers benefiting from BTGB's successful college access and teacher training programs. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Breakthrough Greater Boston (BTGB) will lead a capacity building initiative that will enable BTGB to design and implement a cohesive marketing and communications strategy. This capacity building project will enable BTGB to market and communicate effectively across the community and with the populations served as the organization grows and is a wonderful opportunity for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to have a significant impact on BTGB’s impact and reach for years to come. The selected VISTA candidate will be a member of the Boston Cares AmeriCorps VISTA program of approximately 20 VISTA members serving at more than 10 Greater Boston organizations. Pre-Service Orientation (PSO) for this position will be held August 1-4 in the Boston area. To complete your application, you will need to submit a resume and cover letter. You will receive an email from Laura.Keith@bostoncares.org with a link to a Google Drive folder where you may upload those documents. We recommend adding the address to your email Contacts to prevent messages from going to your junk/spam folder or Promotions tab.
