Smart Lunch, Smart Kid

Over one million children in Georgia are eligible for free or reduced-price lunch, a crucial meal that disappears in the summer, during school breaks, and on the weekends. Smart Lunch, Smart Kid, through the dedication of thousands of volunteers and donors, ensures that these children are fed when school is out. Unlike other feeding programs, we take the food and education to the children in their neighborhoods, removing the barrier of lack of transportation. Since 2012, Smart Lunch, Smart Kid has served over 500,000 healthy meals to Georgia children in the neighborhoods where they live, along with enrichment activities to ensure that their minds -- as well as their bodies -- are nourished and to prevent summer learning loss.
