SERVE Philadelphia Food Policy Advisory Council Coordinator
 
 
 
The Mayor’s Office of Sustainability is looking for a Food Policy Advisory Council (FPAC) Coordinator to work on the initiative to improve equitable food access in Philadelphia. The FPAC Coordinator will build the capacity of Philadelphia food systems stakeholders and residents participating on the Food Policy Advisory Council to develop recommendations to the City that improve food access. The Coordinator will support the Food Policy Advisory Council by coordinating meetings and trainings, conducting research, and helping to develop and implement recommendations whenever feasible to ensure all Philadelphians have access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate foods.

Member Duties : The FPAC Coordinator will ensure the Food Policy Advisory Council’s longevity throughout mayoral transitions by raising awareness of FPAC’s reports, guides, recommendations, events, volunteer opportunities, and tools among appropriate audiences, including low income residents, gardeners, City officials, and the media. The FPAC Coordinator will support the Food Policy Advisory Council long term strategic planning process to build relationships with elected Philadelphia officials. They will also develop outreach strategies to increase diversified participation on FPAC to ensure that recommendations best serve the population they aim to support.
