ShareCorps-TLC Ministries-Summer Associate
 
 
 
TLC Ministries is a compassion ministry whose focus in on Jackson County and the neighboring counties of Gallia and Vinton. We currently operate several Hunger Relief Programs. 1. The Summer Lunch Club is an SFSP program where kids 1-18 can come and eat free. We provide both direct and indirect service, what I mean is we serve at some sites and delivery meals where others serve to other sites. We also operate the Power Pack Program in Wellston City School, where we provide a backpack full of food once a month to kids who have joined and qualify for the program. We also run The Gleaning Field, a food pantry where we distribute food once a month. Our Vision, is not just to give temporary short term help but rather work with the individuals and families through our various programs to transform their situation. TLC Ministries is a VISTA sub-site of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks ShareCorps project.

Member Duties : The Summer VISTA member will be helping with the Summer Lunch Club program. Duties will vary but the main objective is to see that TLC Ministries and each summer lunch site is well promoted, attended, and supported. Duties will include: packing/delivering/serving meals on time, assisting with necessary paperwork, and making sure the kids have fun by providing enrichment activities. Members will also be involved in fundraising event (s) and recruiting volunteers for the summer and other programs TLC Ministries provides.
