ShareCorps-OU Kid's on Campus-Summer Associate

Kids on Campus provides afterschool and summer programs to at-risk students in five school districts (Athens, Alexander, Federal Hocking, Trimble and Southern Local Perry County) and two counties:Athens and Perry in southeastern Ohio. During the summer we provide a day camp to these students. We target students who qualify for free or reduced price school lunch or have an academic need. Each day we will provide children with breakfast, lunch, and a snack. We provide bussing to and from the program. Activities provided include reading, swimming, STEM, physical activity, team building, field trips, family events, and much more. Middle and high school students also explore college and career options.

Member Duties : Members will work with Kids on Campus staff members to provide summer meals to 300 students over the summer as well as work directly with our campers to provide engaging educational and recreational activities. Members will be responsible for set up, distribution and clean up for breakfasts and lunches and provision of a snack to each child each day. In addition members will accompany groups of campers on field trips, assist with learning activities and work with older youth on encouraging service learning. Members will also work with staff to organize summer camp rooms and supplies ahead of camp and then redistribute supplies and materials to storage or school sites after camp.
