SERVE Philadelphia Community Resilience Coordinator
 
 
 
The Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is looking for a Community Resilience Assistant Coordinator to help strengthen partnerships around emergency planning for people with disabilities, engage individuals around topics in personal preparedness and build awareness of emergency resources. The Office of Emergency Management partners with community based organizations to identify residents with Access and Functional Needs (AFN). Once identified, OEM and other City agencies work with residents in the community to identify gaps in their emergency preparedness and provide them with technical assistance, planning information, and preparedness resources essential to increasing individual and community resiliency. The Community Resilience Assistant Coordinator will work to develop a leading program to increase disaster resiliency for low-income individuals with access and functional needs. The goal of this position is to share information, provide technical assistance, and integrate the AFN community into emergency planning and preparedness to reduce the impact of disasters.

Member Duties : Essential duties include: Continue to lead two Access and Functional Needs (AFN) Advisory Panel meetings annually and ensure that stakeholders are using the panel to enhance their emergency plans. Develop an AFN Outreach Team to go out to the public to deliver three preparedness presentations and support mass care operations as technical advisors. Host one AFN Symposium for the residents of Philadelphia to promote the bidirectional sharing of information, planning, and preparedness resources. Develop and enhance a Geographic Information System (GIS) program for locating vulnerable populations for planning and response purposes. Develop guidance documentation and training for the use of AFN GIS data.
