2016 Corps 18 Communications VISTA (826LA)
 
 
 
826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Corps 18 volunteers will support volunteer recruitment, program development, and organizational capacity building in seven different writing and tutoring centers located in seven urban areas across the country (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, and New York City).

Member Duties : *Develop an ongoing external communications strategy to broaden the surrounding communities’ awareness of and engagement with 826LA programs.*Develop and implement a communications strategy to expand 826’s media presence and expand the reach of its programs for underserved students.*Develop outreach materials to share the impact of 826LA programs.*Provide for the sustainability of the project.* Develop system to track press contacts.*Organize systems for future outreach efforts, including compiling outreach materials.
