2016 Development Systems VISTA (826 Valencia)
 
 
 
826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Corps 18 volunteers will support volunteer recruitment, program development, and organizational capacity building in seven different writing and tutoring centers located in seven urban areas across the country (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, and New York City).

Member Duties : *Build and/or expand development systems to ensure continued funding for 826 National’s free writing and tutoring programs.*Build and/or expand donor engagement and participation to increase funds raised in support of literacy and volunteer programs.*Assist in planning annual fundraisers to build awareness and identify new supporters to sustain Valencia’s new writing and tutoring center.*Broaden the surrounding communities’ awareness of 826 programs.
