SERVE Philadelphia Financial Empowerment Coordinator
 
 
 
The Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment & Opportunity is looking for a Financial Empowerment Coordinator to work on the initiatives of the Financial Inclusion for New Americans (FINA) project. The FINA project will increase financial security within immigrant and refugee communities. Every year, thousands of immigrants settle in Philadelphia, but a complex and unfamiliar financial system prevents them from truly prospering. In order to facilitate their integration into American society, the Financial Inclusion Coordinator VISTA will help develop and implement interventions with the goals of improving banking access, establishing credit, building savings, and managing money.

Member Duties : Essential duties include: Build partnerships within the community of immigrant service providers. Create and conduct surveys of both clients and providers ascertain community needs. Convene groups for capacity building trainings and financial education service sessions. Work with partners to convene focus groups around specific challenges (i.e. banking, credit, etc.). Facilitate the development of a lending circles for citizenship module.
