The Workforce Institute (WFI) provides job-readiness training, industry-specific training and certifications, student support services, and post-secondary degree programs for primarily low-income students who have experienced many barriers to employment and education. By offering a supportive learning environment and personalized attention, WFI prepares even the most vulnerable students for sustainable careers and economic independence. Specifically, WFI’s STRIVE Forward program, addresses education and workforce needs among juvenile justice-involved youth.

Member Duties : 1. Refine a system of resource-generation for the organization to support its youth education programming. 2. Support the Workforce Institute’s volunteer program by developing a system to recruit career mentors, who will have a significant impact on youth’s ability to gain workforce skills that lead to good jobs. 3. Provide mentoring coordination support for volunteer mentors. 4. Identify new funding sources/opportunities 5. Create new proposal templates and prepare grant proposals and corporate sponsorship applications. 6. Assist with soliciting donations from corporate partners in collaboration with the Partnership Coordinator and other Workforce Institute staff. 7. Develop marketing materials 8. Create presentation and handout materials to use for meetings with potential funders or for outreach purposes with area businesses. 9. Provide materials and support for volunteer management and recognition.
