College and Career Readiness VISTA

These VISTA positions join Better Together Central Oregon—a regional, cross-sector partnership working collectively to improve children and youth success from before birth to career. Members will focus their outreach and partnership development efforts in four priorities along the cradle to career continuum: 1) Early Learning and Wellness, 2) Supporting Families, 3) Bridging vulnerable transitions and 4) Aligning education/training with career. The VISTA will serve in critical support of the complex social issue of ensuring long-term student success (defined as ending in a meaningful career). VISTA members will work to increase the capacity and sustainability of a cutting edge student success movement that is data driven, innovative and is gaining increasing recognition on the state and national stage. Better Together partners closely with Oregon State University-Open Campus, who provides local access to learning in order to address the unique educational needs of Central Oregon’s communities. Through our partnership work, the critical need of post-secondary readiness has come up time and again, especially with regards to rural students who do not often have access to the information and support they need to plan for post-secondary education and training. This VISTA position will work closely with OSU-Open Campus to develop and implement programming around engaging families to prepare for high school graduation and life after high school. visit our website for more infomation bettertogethercentraloregon.org
