This position is part of the Emerge VISTA cohort, and will serve at Operation de Novo. Operation de Novo provides opportunities for a second chance. Operation de Novo is a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality pre-charge/pre-trial diversion services for first-time property and drug offenders in Hennepin County. Operation de Novo offers alternatives to more costly and restrictive criminal justice sanctions. Our client’s level of risk and criminogenic needs are addressed during their time in diversion with the hope that we can promote a more positive future for our clients, free of continued involvement in the criminal justice system.

Member Duties : This position requires a passion for second chances and an individual who thrives working in a team environment. The education and employment coordinator will research and network with local employers and educational programs. Learning about their requirements and needs in the workforce and then bringing that back to your team members at Operation de Novo. You will create a guide to assist case managers in their work with clients on educational and employment goals. You will have contact with clients to learn what their needs are and the resource connections that will be most meaningful to them. Incorporating all of this knowledge and developing a strategy for the growth of our education and employment resources and then implementing that strategy for the staff and clients of Operation de Novo.
