2016-17 Habitat Outreach & Faith Relations- River Falls, WI

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Nearly 20% of Wisconsin residents pay more than 50% of their family income for housing. With an already large but increasing need for affordable housing in our state, the 40 local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Wisconsin are working hard to address that need by partnering with low-income families to build, rehab or repair homes. The Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA program’s goal is to strengthen affiliates and increase their capacity. With passion, commitment, and hard work our VISTA members help affiliates as they bring individuals and communities out of poverty. St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and to making adequate, affordable housing a matter of conscience and action. Since 1996, SCVHFH has partnered with 66 families towards home ownership, and is leading the industry in cold climate-sustainable affordable, single-family housing.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will assist SCVHFH with developing their outreach and faith relations programs. Project objectives include 1) Improve the Volunteer Program, including developing an annual volunteer recognition event; 2) expand the Community Outreach Campaign to increase donations and volunteers; and 3) strengthen and grow the Faith Relations/Public Relations Committee to promote sustainable community partnerships. The VISTA member will be located our of River Falls, WI. Interviews are done on a rolling basis. Please submit application as soon as possible to ensure consideration. Selection may be made before deadline date posted.
