ShareCorps-Homeless Families Foundation- Summer Associate
 
 
 
Homeless Families Foundation, Dowd Education Center provides a high quality summer academic enrichment program to students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. The students participate for 6.5 hours daily in academic and youth development activities. We utilize a project based learning format where students identify and solve real world problems. Part of our summer program is operating an summer food site which provides breakfast and lunch daily. Homeless Families Foundation additionally provides a direct housing program for families who are homeless and a SPARK program(pre-k literacy).

Member Duties : The HFF Summer VISTA will be involved of all aspects of the summer feeding program including: menu planning, grocery shopping, meal preparation, kitchen clean up and completing all paperwork for SFSP program. In addition, the HFF Summer VISTA will be involved in class activities after clean up from lunch is completed. They would participate in youth development activities will the students.
