Marketing and Development Cor-MNUDL (CSP)

If you’re interested in stretching your skills as a writer and building a portfolio of communications and PR work, this is the position for you! We need someone who is outgoing, a good writer, and interested in building relationships with diverse high school and middle school students in the Twin Cities. You will also have the opportunity to work with volunteers, teachers, and school staff to support the MNUDL mission. The mission of the MN Urban Debate League is to empower students to become engaged learners, critical thinkers, and active citizens who are effective advocates for themselves and their communities. The MNUDL serves 750 students in Minneapolis and St. Paul, in middle school and high school. The goal of this project is to build the capacity of the MNUDL to serve more students in St. Paul and ensure that they graduate from high school with a plan for post-secondary education and career success. Through debate, students use their voice to build power and change in their own lives and in their community. Students who participate in debate build social and emotional skills, alongside with improving their academic skills. Our students are amazing, and we need someone to tell their story to the wider world. **This position is part of the City of St. Paul VISTA Cohort. This cohort provides a learning community of 20 fellow VISTA members all serving within Saint Paul. We provide bi-weekly professional development training and additional support throughout the year.
