Keystone Community Services (CSP)

Keystone Community Services provides quality programs to improve the academic performance and healthy development of 300 + low-income and immigrant youth at three locations in St. Paul. Our program staff believes that by giving youth a role in shaping the programs they participate in, the programs will better reflect the needs and interests of youth participants, leading them to be more engaged as participants and improving the impact on their lives. Previously, the youth role in evaluation has been traditional such as providing feedback through surveys and focus groups. Keystone’s youth programs are all well established with dedicated staff who welcome opportunities to learn and grow from others. As a Vista member, you will gain extensive knowledge and unique insight into ongoing evaluation improvements on how important they are to helping these programs stay relevant.

Member Duties : As VISTA member at Keystone, you will elevate the role of youth in evaluating our programs by working with staff to form a youth evaluation team that can help us carry out our evaluation plan. This will involve recruiting youth, crafting an evaluation plan with them, and helping them capture, analyze and report their findings to key staff. In addition to working with the youth evaluation team, our VISTA will have the opportunity to independently research and create a “case” for expanding Keystone’s youth programming to new sites or in new areas in the next 1-2 years. This will require outreach to other program providers and the wider community to assess needs and gaps in service for youth in St. Paul. Lastly, we will rely on our VISTA to work alongside program staff and teachers to sustain the success of the previous year’s VISTA in helping us integrate and implement our regular evaluation activities.
