Dispute Resolution Center- Youth Program Liaison (CSP)

The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC), founded in 1982, is the oldest community mediation program in Minnesota. DRC’s mission is to promote the constructive resolution of conflict through open communication and shared decision-making. It is the only program offering residents of the East Metro area of the Twin Cities free and low-cost volunteer-based mediation, conflict resolution, and restorative services in court and community settings. The overarching goal of DRC is to provide accessible, effective, and affordable alternative dispute resolution services and customized trainings to assist community members in the resolution of conflict and the development of peacemaking skills. This VISTA project will center on supporting the Peace Builders’ Junction (PBJ) youth program, providing youth with an opportunity to connect around the development and practice of conflict resolution skills. It will involve program and curriculum development and evaluation, communication and outreach, and fundraising and grant writing. The VISTA member will work with staff, youth, and volunteers to: find creative ways to reach and engage youth in fun and edifying ways; reach, engage, and train volunteers in youth work; and help build positive connections between youth and adults. DRC is looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to help DRC build its capacity to serve youth in the Mt. Airy community. Apply today to join us in helping further our goal of engaging youth in conflict resolution skills. **This position is part of the City of St. Paul VISTA Cohort. This cohort provides a learning community of 20 fellow VISTA members all serving within Saint Paul. We provide bi-weekly professional development training and additional support throughout the year.
