Chisholm Trail RSVP-PediPlace Resource Development VISTA
 
 
 
PediPlace has two clinics located in Lewisville and Dallas, TX and is a not-for-profit pediatric clinic that provides a broad scope of health services with a highly competent and bilingual staff of medical professionals, trained office staff, and dedicated volunteers. By providing quality, compassionate, family-centered healthcare to North Texas children with limited access to care, children are given what they cannot access elsewhere, a chance at a healthy life. During our 22 years of service, we have made healthcare a reality for over 22,000 North Texas children in more than 320,000 office visits. In 2015, we provided primary pediatric healthcare services to 6,505 patients in 24,558 office visits and established 1,933 new patients, which included 543 newborn children. The Resource Development VISTA at PediPlace will build capacity through the development and implementation of social media campaigns and the establishment of new relationships with community groups and businesses which will increase awareness of PediPlace’s donation and volunteer opportunities. AmeriCorps VISTA members perform only indirect service; interaction with clients will be limited and the member will spend the majority of his or her time in an office setting. However, the PediPlace VISTA will play a dynamic role in ending poverty by increasing donation and volunteer opportunities to make healthcare a reality for every kid. As a PediPlace Resource Development VISTA you will be part of a cohort coordinated by the AmeriCorps VISTA North Texas project at Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. Early applications strongly encouraged. Member Duties : As a VISTA Member at PediPlace, you will help end poverty by increasing donation and volunteer opportunities to make healthcare a reality for every kid. Major functions include developing new fundraising activities to be used in PediPlace’s service areas, increasing awareness and marketing volunteer opportunities by growing current and establishing new relationships with community groups and businesses, creating or updating collateral marketing materials and improving current social media communications. VISTAs serve their communities through indirect service. The programs developed by the Resource Development VISTA will endure for years, however the VISTA member will have limited interaction with PediPlace clients and will be based in an office setting. Applicants must be able to work independently, possess strong verbal and written communication skills and be social media and computer savvy. Applicants must be able to “think outside the box” and use creativity in this position.
