Nonprofit Sustainability Specialist - Isuroon

Isuroon is dedicated to building Somali women’s self-sufficiency so that they can lead healthier, more productive lives in Minnesota, nationally and in Somalia. Isuroon is a Somali, community-led organization focused on maternal health, and uniquely qualified to help with the upward mobility of our women, provide a voice for policy change that promotes self-sufficiency and enable culturally-specific health services with improved outcomes. Isuroon aims to empower the women of the Somali community and increase women’s participation in making the decisions that affect their health and well-being. For example, one of the young mothers we have helped has increased her language and computer skills, learned to drive and bought herself a car so she can rely on herself to get to work and fulfill the needs of her family. As her confidence has grown, she has developed a strong connection to many in her community and helps them bridge into the new challenges that affect their lives. Self-sufficiency promotes growth and confidence leading to stronger families and community members. The Nonprofit Sustainability Specialist will increase support available to the Somali community, specifically Somali women, through Isuroon by • increasing operational efficiencies; • expanding the organization’s connections with individual donors and volunteers; • increasing capacity through communications and fund development.
