Community Art Collaborative

Created in 2004, the Community Art Collaborative (CAC) is the only program of its kind in Maryland that links artists, communities, and institutions of higher education. Housed in the Office of Community Engagement at MICA, this program places community artists in year-long residencies with nonprofits, schools, and community centers in Baltimore City. CAC AmeriCorps members will work with Baltimore-based organizations to design and implement high quality arts-based activities for children and youth. Members will design or expand the range of after-school program offerings, community projects, and service learning opportunities. CAC members will also assist in increasing volunteer opportunities and resources for their host organizations. CAC AmeriCorps members will benefit from excellent professional development training in the community arts, education, and non-profit management fields.
