ShareCorps - Greater Cleveland FB - Client Data Specialist

The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s mission is working together to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. The Food Bank is the cornerstone of Northeast Ohio’s hunger relief efforts, serving as the link between members of the food industry that have excess food and over 600 local hunger programs. In our 2016 fiscal year, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank made 50 million meals possible in our six county service area. Our three year strategic plan focuses on reaching more children, seniors, and clients with health challenges. The Food Bank is the sole nonprofit provider of food to local nonprofit hunger centers in our six-county service area, distributing nonperishable food, fresh produce, perishable and frozen foods, and prepared meals. The Food Bank was founded in 1979 when representatives from the food service industry partnered with local charities to find an efficient way to distribute surplus food that might otherwise go to waste. GCFB is a VISTA sub-site of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks ShareCorps program.

Member Duties : Streamline data collection processes and reporting systems that will increase our partners abilities to distribute as many nutritious meals as possible to our hungry neighbors. Member will do this by: ensuring ongoing support to our partners and provide insight into the work they do and the families they serve by implementing, training and supporting them with client intake systems and data collection. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s online Portal will be utilized along with the PantryTrak and Meal Tracker software. Suggest new processes for the current implementation for each system and check that those who are using the required systems are in compliance with the Food Bank, State of Ohio, USDA, and Feeding America. Also, the VISTA will work alongside volunteers, community leaders, and government workers with any additional reports from the PantryTrak and Meal Tracker data as opportunities arise.
