Pine Ridge Promise Zone - Youth
 
 
 
The Youth Activities Specialist will help develop and support youth activities for an American Indian-led nonprofit, Oyate Teca, located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. Oyate Teca provides local, grassroots, culturally-based programming to the youth in the central area of the reservation. This organization provides youth with a safe, secure environment to engage in constructive activities with caring adults, mentors, and their peers. Thus, allowing youth to prepare to make positive choices and experience success.

Member Duties : Participate in orientation process for VISTA’s. Develop the system to support the summer youth activities of Oyate Teca. Develop the system to support the afterschool youth activities provided by Oyate Teca. Develop a system to support the quarterly and cultural events/classes youth that Oyate Teca provides to the community. Participate in monthly all-VISTA meetings, Americorps Days of Service and various community outings.
