Opportunity Youth Community Liaison VISTA-C3 TwinCities

The mission of Hennepin County’s Housing Stability Office is to develop systems to assist the most vulnerable, disabled and impoverished residents of Hennepin County in obtaining and retaining housing. In the year ahead we will continue to focus on creating housing opportunities for the poorest people in the community and connect the work of ending homelessness to larger systems ---child welfare, employment, healthcare, and corrections — so that we can fill the gaps in services where people can slide into homelessness. The VISTA will lead critical parts of our effort to ensure self-sufficiency for youth 16-24 as they teeter on the edge of homelessness. Key activities will include: (1) developing training tools on financial literacy for youth, (2) building the capacity of our community to better integrate housing and employment strategies, and (3) constructing stronger connections between community providers, youth, and employers. **This position is part of the C3 Twin Cities VISTA Program. C3 Twin Cities offers a unique cohort experience rooted in a social justice framework. It also offers $200 of monthly housing support, iPhone and phone plan, transportation support and many professional development opportunities through the county. Check out www.c3twincities.org for more details.
