WSC, Nisqually Land Trust, Volunteer Coordinator
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps member will engage community members in implementation of the Nisqually Land Trust mission – acquiring and managing critical lands to permanently benefit the water, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed. The Land Trust is a non-profit, private conservation organization in South Puget Sound that protects over 5,000 acres in the Nisqually Watershed. This position is ideal for an outgoing and self-motivated individual dedicated to supporting volunteers make meaningful contributions to conservation and habitat restoration, including tree planting and invasive weed control. The member will establish connections with community partners involved in fish and wildlife habitat protection and restoration activities throughout South Puget Sound. This position is contingent on funding.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will recruit volunteers using a variety of techniques, including email invitations, web-based volunteer databases, and outreach at local and regional events; train and support volunteers taking part in community outreach and environmental stewardship activities; develop and implement volunteer procedures and training workshops; host a volunteer recognition event; and maintain volunteer records, including data required for AmeriCorps reporting. In addition, WSC members may be asked to deploy to help support disaster response and/or recovery efforts.
