Welcoming Idaho Newcomers (WIN) Volunteer Coordinator- Boise
 
 
 
To alleviate poverty through the promotion of successful integration and economic independence among New Americans (immigrants and refugees), the Welcoming Idaho Newcomers (WIN) VISTA project will build the capacity of CCI through the creation and implementation of a sustainable plan to: 1) Expand volunteer based skill building and supportive services in CCI’s existing immigrant and refugee serving programs; 2) Improve recruitment and retention rates of volunteers to increase CCI’s effectiveness in serving impoverished, vulnerable New Americans specifically in case management and information and referral programs.

Member Duties : Maximize CCI volunteer program and assess volunteer involvement and needs in current immigrant and refugee programs and create or revise programs, policies, procedures, or materials to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of volunteer based services to New Americans in the first 6 months of service year. Improve coordination, monitoring and support of volunteers in New Americans serving programs to increase volunteer recruitment, participation and retention by 50% in assigned center by the end of the year of service. Build community partnerships, create culturally/linguistically appropriate materials and conduct effective outreach to service recipients, prospective volunteers and others to build awareness of CCI’s programs and services designed to lift New Americans out of poverty.
