Out of School Time: Santa Fe Collective Impact

Serve in Santa Fe; explore the beautiful New Mexican landscape! VISTAs have the opportunity to work with dozens of nonprofits dedicated to increasing access to the arts, sciences, culture, environment, and so many more. The VISTA member will work closely with partners to help coordinate out-of-school time programs (after-school and summer programs) across Santa Fe (both school-based and community-based), foster partnerships, and increase communication and synergy between programs. The VISTA will coordiante a summer program that is in partnership between the Community Educators Network and the City of Santa Fe, and receive mentorship form many community leaders in this work. One of the short-term priorities for the VISTA member will be to develop a Resource Hub for out-of-school time programs including compiling and disseminating a program directory (both in electronic and in paper formats) and organizing a summer programs fair in the spring to widely share program information with families, teachers and providers. In addition to the activities related to assigned program areas, all VISTA members will be engaged in supporting broad project goals and activities including organization of Community and Youth Summits, issue-based forums or community fairs, communication in eNews and social media, and data collection and management related to their work areas, including performance measures, to assess both short-term and long-term impact of the work being conducted. Over time, the VISTAs will become more focused on implementation of what has been developed, broaden community outreach/deeper engagement, and expand the work.
