Santa Fe Collective Impact - Career Pathways

Serve in Santa Fe; explore the beautiful New Mexican landscape! The VISTA member will work closely with the collective impact partners as well as with Santa Fe Community College, TechHire Santa Fe, Innovate+Educate, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Santa Fe Economic Development Department to identify strategic opportunities and workforce training needs. The member will focus initially on mapping existing programs and resources. This resource mapping and directory will be used in community outreach as well as by work teams to identify gaps and ways to expand career pathways and degree/certificate/training programs for youth/young adults in Santa Fe. The VISTA member will also support development and implementation of a citywide campaign to engage the business community in creating more internship and other career exploration opportunities for youth/young adults, and work with businesses, post-secondary educational institutions, and job training centers to expand Core Score and other effective career readiness assessment and skills training programs. There will also be a focus on college pathways, assisting SFCC with Ticket to College Workshops and other projects to strengthen the HS to College pipeline. In addition to the activities related to assigned program areas, all VISTA members will be engaged in supporting broad project goals and activities including organization of Community and Youth Summits, issue-based forums or community fairs, communication in eNews and social media, and data collection and management related to their work areas, including performance measures, to assess both short-term and long-term impact of the work being conducted. Over time, the VISTAs will become more focused on implementation of what has been developed, broaden community outreach/deeper engagement, and expand the work.
