16-17 IA College Aid, United Way of Muscatine

The VISTA member will work closely with United Way of Muscatine, Muscatine Community College, Muscatine Community School District and other College Changes Everything partners to support a community-wide effort to increase college access and success. This will include community asset mapping, assistance with baseline data collection and building strong partnerships with area organizations and agencies to support students in applying for, entering and completing college. This position is located in Muscatine, Iowa.

Member Duties : This AmeriCorps VISTA member will work with Iowa College Aid and United Way of Muscatine to build a coordinated effort around college access and success for residents of Muscatine. The member will work to assist the College Changes Everything leadership team with increasing the scope of their community asset map and baseline data. This will include building strong partnerships with area organizations and agencies that provide services on the cradle-to-career spectrum. The member will also work closely with Muscatine Community School District and the Muscatine Community College to improve college access and success, particularly for minority and low-income populations.
