Center for People in Need provides comprehensive services and opportunities to support low-income, high needs families, and individuals to strive to lift themselves out of poverty and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Our goals are to assist other human services agencies that are providing social and economic needs of low income and high needs families, provide emergency and basic needs of families through direct services, develop and support educational programs, increase job trainings and improve computer skills for low income workers. The Communication Specialist VISTA will research successful digital marketing strategies and current trends for non-profit organizations, create an innovative online marketing plan for the agency that streamlines strategies for website content, blog postings, Facebook, Twitter and other available outlets. Develop tools that will ensure regular maintenance and updating of digital media communications. Research effective non-profit use of social media to fund raise and engage potential donors/sponsors. Create a digital media fundraising plan.

Member Duties : The Communication Specialist VISTA will create a marketing plan, research trends and best practices of marketing strategies used by nonprofit organizations, develop a procedural manual that outlines the information necessary to maintain and update the tools for marketing platforms. This VISTA member will research successful use of social media by non-profit organizations to generate donations. Assess the cost effectiveness of current fundraising activities, develop and document specific strategies to implement across all communications platforms to increase donations. Create a calendar that aligns specific donation requests with agency events, needs and other marketing efforts, develop agency fact sheet(s) to enhance fundraising efforts, establish a tracking tool to record funds raised through social media and other efforts.Identify new funding opportunities for the organization, research new grant funding. Create a calendar of grant funding applications and write 3 grant applications.
