Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation VISTA Leader

Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation (YNDC) is seeking candidates to serve as the VISTA Leader for our AmeriCorps VISTA project. The VISTA leader serves to guide the project and ensure that members have the tools and support needed to complete their service assignments. The leader is responsible for setting an example for other members and guiding them in the completion of assignments. The leader also coordinates and manages volunteer service projects and assists with overall volunteer and VISTA member recruitment. This position is for an individual eager to make a real and lasting impact transforming neighborhoods into meaningful places where people invest time, money, and energy into their homes and community. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills, be able to set an example for other VISTAs serving at YNDC, basic computer abilities including Microsoft Office, the ability to work with a diverse group of people, a strong work-ethic, and an earnest desire to get things done. Per CNCS regulations, applicants must have served at least 1 full year as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in order to serve as Leader.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader will: assist with the support and coordination of the YNDC VISTA project; serve as mentor and advisor to VISTA members; provide opportunities for professional development to members; track member activities and assist the VISTA Supervisor in monthly, quarterly and other reporting as necessary; and most importantly set an example of dedication to service to members, the project site and the community. The VISTA leader will also assist with ongoing recruitment of VISTA members and community volunteers. REVITALIZE.
