Serve in the HandsOn Greater Phoenix office and join the HandsOn VISTA Team! ABOUT THE ROLE: See ‘Members Duteis’ section below. ABOUT HandsOn Greater Phoenix: for For over twenty years, HandsOn Greater Phoenix has worked with nonprofits, low-income schools, neighborhood associations and government entities to assess and meet the volunteer needs of the Greater Phoenix area. The HandsOn VISTA program supports nineteen VISTA members at multiple sites and in doing so, hopes to infuse volunteer management competency into the community. Members will enable our community service partners to build lasting infrastructure by creating the processes and tools needed to effectively access and utilize valuable volunteer resources. At the same time, more opportunities will be created for individuals and groups to engage in meaningful service to under-resourced communities. HandsOn VISTA members will also improve their capacity for leading their communities during and beyond their terms of service by developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to volunteer mobilization and civic engagement through additional training and professional development. Member Duties : The VISTA member serving in the HandsOn Greater Phoenix office will improve volunteer engagement for our Calendar Program, thereby increasing the number of low-income clients benefiting from these programs. The member will implement new processes, revise existing training materials, create marketing materials, and oversee strategies for effective volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition.
