HandsOn Greater Phoenix - City of Phoenix, Human Services
 
 
 
Serve with the City of Phoenix Human Services Department on the HandsOn VISTA Team! For over twenty years, HandsOn Greater Phoenix has worked with nonprofits, low-income schools, neighborhood associations and government entities to assess and meet the volunteer needs of the Greater Phoenix area. The HandsOn VISTA program supports nineteen VISTA members at multiple sites and in doing so, hopes to infuse volunteer management competency into the community. Members will enable our community service partners to build lasting infrastructure by creating the processes and tools needed to effectively access and utilize valuable volunteer resources. At the same time, more opportunities will be created for individuals and groups to engage in meaningful service to under-resourced communities. HandsOn VISTA members will also improve their capacity for leading their communities during and beyond their terms of service by developing their knowledge, skills, and abilities related to volunteer mobilization and civic engagement through additional training and professional development.

Member Duties : The HandsOn VISTA member serving with the City of Phoenix Human Services Department will conduct research, analyze data, oversee outreach and focus, and implement an innovative new strategy to increase the involvement of adult male role models in the lives of local Head Start students.
