2017 City of San Antonio Tricentennial Days of Service VISTA
 
 
 
This project will assist the Tricentennial Office to plan and implement the “300 days of service” component of the City’s 300th birthday in 2018 by building a dynamic inventory of volunteer opportunities in San Antonio and placing/supporting volunteers to provide service to improve the San Antonio community. The VISTA will focus on: engaging residents to contribute to their local community through a variety of service-oriented opportunities and improve the San Antonio community through capacity-building volunteer opportunities.

Member Duties : VISTA Member will conduct the following tasks: provide extensive marketing and outreach of “300 days of service”, outreach to all age and socioeconomic demographics, with an emphasis of recruiting volunteers from neighborhoods near the project sites to increase community ownership and investment in the outcomes and sustainability of the projects, coordinate and assign individuals to identified projects based on need and demand, implement programming of Community Service Initiative, coordinate with multiple agencies and community organizations to fulfll service projects, and evaluate impact of each project.
