2016-17 Habitat ReStore Development- Madison, WI

Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Nearly 20% of Wisconsin residents pay more than 50% of their family income for housing. With an already large but increasing need for affordable housing in our state, the 40 local Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Wisconsin are working hard to address that need by partnering with low-income families to build, rehab or repair homes. The Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin VISTA program’s goal is to strengthen affiliates and increase their capacity. With passion, commitment, and hard work our VISTA members help affiliates as they bring individuals and communities out of poverty. Located in Wisconsin’s state capitol, Habitat for Humanity of Dane County has partnered with over 238 families since 1987. HFHDC strives to be a recognized leader, partner, and catalyst, for affordable housing solutions that positively impact families, communities, and the environment. The ReStore is a Habitat for Humanity program that sells new and gently used building materials and other goods at a fraction of retail pricing.
