Access Enhancement VISTA
 
 
 
Center For Family Services (CFS) is a large and exciting nonprofit human services agency based in Camden City, NJ. CFS provides counseling, parenting education, substance abuse treatment, safe and supportive housing, early childhood education, and crisis intervention to children, individuals, and families throughout New Jersey. Due to recent growth/expansion, CFS is seeking support from AmeriCorps VISTAs to build the capacity of our administrative infrastructure, as well as the infrastructure of new programs. This VISTA member will serve to enhance communication across programs regarding clients' needs and eligibility, increase awareness of Access services throughout greater South Jersey, standardize the referral process, and train staff to effectively support families in navigating services available to them. This AmeriCorps VISTA Member will increase the functionality of the Access department and systems of communication in order to make the CFS referral process more effective and to connect more families to a continuous pipeline of services to break the cycle of generational poverty. Member Duties : This AmeriCorps VISTA Member will enhance the efficiency of Center For Family Services’ referral network by heightening awareness of Access services, standardizing the referrals process, training staff to communication effectively with individuals in need of services. This service opportunity will include the following: develop efficient processes around the referral process; provide outreach to CFS programs and referral sources who serve families who may benefit from the many various CFS programs; identify gaps in connecting families to services that meet their needs; report on number of families connected to various programs in the CFS continuum. This AmeriCorps VISTA Member will play a key role in ensuring families are connected to all of the various services needed to lead healthy and fulfilled lives. This position requires pre-service drug screening and criminal background checks.
