West Virginia's Promise-The Alliance for Youth

VISTA members will serve towards the Education focus in WV counties; Clay, Jefferson, Berkeley, Boone, Fayette, Kanawha, Morgan, Ohio, Pocahontas, Roane, Upshur and Wood. VISTAs will develop, enhance, sustain educational programs, increase funding, focusing on fulfilling Five Promises of America’s Promise, to strengthen and supplement efforts to eliminate and alleviate poverty. Service duties may include; recruit volunteers, train direct service providers, develop media kits, press releases and public speaking tools, organize fundraising events, research and write grants, organize task forces and conduct outreach, create volunteer assignments, write manuals, develop a speakers’ bureau, develop brochures and handbooks, develop train the trainers curriculum, build and develop community partnerships, secure partners; develop databases, secure funding for project staffing, create infrastructure and create evaluations tools.
