Volunteer Houston–Lemonade Day VISTA
 
 
 
Volunteer Houston VISTA members will expand their host sites’ organizational capacity to effectively engage volunteers and expand services. Members will enable our partners to build lasting volunteer infrastructure by creating the processes and tools needed to effectively access and utilize valuable volunteer program resources. At the same time, more opportunities will be created for community volunteers to engage in meaningful service to under-resourced communities to support efforts to alleviate poverty in Greater Houston. This member will work to recruit, train, and manage volunteers in their work leading Lemonade Day Houston programs and events in schools, youth organizations, faith-based groups, home school networks, and neighborhoods.

Member Duties : VISTAs will develop a cohesive volunteer experience by assisting with the design and creation of a volunteer resource kit, which involves preparing training and orientation materials and videos, as well as streamline a volunteer sign-up method, orientation process and feedback loop. VISTAs will develop a comprehensive tool kit and user-friendly process to onboard and equip volunteers for each specific domain within Lemonade Day Houston. VISTAs will also assist volunteer groups’ efforts by maintaining all volunteer contacts in the database, coordinating volunteer trainings, implementing a schedule for meetings and events, as well as connecting partners as needed. Success will be measured by volunteers’ independence, program implementation success and retention.
