Social Media Associate-Salud Para La Gente (Watsonville)

Salud Para La Gente (Salud), a nonprofit community health center based in Watsonville on the Monterey Bay of California, is a major health services provider in both Santa Cruz and Monterey counties — for anyone and everyone who walks through the doors of its various clinics, regardless of insurance or ability to pay. In addition to medical care, one of the essential services Salud assists individuals and families in navigating the often-confusing health insurance market. Salud began in Watsonville in 1978 as a storefront “free clinic” to treat farm workers. Salud has continued to grow from that small storefront clinic into the primary healthcare network it is today, with 11 sites, including 6 school-based clinics. We now serve about 28,000 patients with 118,520 visits a year. We are seeking a Communications Associate to be part of a team committed to providing affordable, high quality health care services and expanding health care coverage to improve access to health care for everyone. A successful candidate will be extremely organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic about our vision, a talented communicator, and very detail-oriented. A passion for affordable and accessible health care for everyone and a strong sense of social justice are essential. You will gain experience and practical skills on how to evaluate, develop, launch, and manage a patient and community messaging strategy for a mid-sized health center dedicated to improving access to care for its underserved communities.
