The Jobs & Economic Development Action Team Coordinator for SHRA is a once in a lifetime opportunity for an enterprising individual with an interest in designing economic development strategies that support the creation, retention and expansion of small businesses, employment opportunities and economic security for households within the place based initiative through collaborating and connecting public, private and local organizations. The VISTA in this position will focus on providing support and facilitating access to services and resources that contribute to the improved economic well-being and security of economically disadvantaged people. Headquartered within the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), the lead agency for the Sacramento place based initiative, the individual in this position will coordinate the teams, complete an assessment of current initiatives, plan, develop and implement economic development strategies in Sacramento.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will work with local partners to analyze local job market and training opportunities; recruit businesses; improve small business development resources for outreach and communications; strategize and provide internships/employment opportunities to community partners and local students; improve and build the relationship between financial institutions; collaborate with Action Team members to discuss and coordinate initiatives; facilitate and attend Team meetings.
