Chisholm Trail RSVP-Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center
 
 
 
Chisholm Trail RSVP, Inc. is a VISTA Intermediary agency working with non-profit agencies, such as Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center in Denton County Texas to alleviate poverty in North Texas. Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) empowers individuals to make wise life choices financially, sexually, and relationally through 3 programs that work together to provide assistance to women in unintended pregnancies and bring families out of poverty. Ninety percent (90%) of the clients receiving services through the programs at Woman to Woman PRC fall below the poverty line with an average annual income of $17,000. The clinic at Woman to Woman PRC provides free medical services, including pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, prenatal care and medical follow-ups, as well as counseling to clients. Woman to Woman’s Living Choices of North Texas program is a school-based program with the mission of educating youth, equipping parents and engaging the community with accurate facts concerning sexual health and well-being. The Living Choices program is in several North Texas middle and high schools, presenting the sexual health program to over 2,000 students each school year from 6th grade to 12th grade. The Twice as Nice Resale Store of Denton is a thrift store that supports the mission of Woman to Woman PRC. Women seeking services from Woman to Woman have the opportunity to receive new and gently used merchandise from the thrift store for themselves and their children free of charge through the Earn and Learn Program. The Grant Development VISTA will create, organize and implement a grant writing program to increase funding for programs benefiting low income women and families in Denton County Texas. Member Duties : The Grant Program Development VISTA will build capacity by creating, organizing and implementing a grant writing program at Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center. The VISTA will assess the agency’s program needs and develop a process to search for applicable grants. The VISTA will develop a grant document library, grant calendar and concept plan to be used by staff and potential volunteers. The VISTA member will research for and apply for 4 grants with a total outcome of $75,000. The funds generated through the grant program will assist the agency to offer free medical care, essential education and free resources to the economically disadvantaged women and families in the Denton County community.
