Member Duties : MTCC AmeriCorps Members will tutor students through one-on-one activities, small group activities, and collaborating with school administrators and staff. They will collaborate with MTCC AmeriCorps Leader to promote activities that serve their target population of first-generation, low-income students. The college student members will engage students and their families in three (3) pre-college programming activities such as classroom visits, assemblies, or student club meetings; or host workshops for students and families to discuss topics relevant to college prep (e.g. College Application Week, financial aid or FAFSA help). They will facilitate college positive training sessions with other college students to encourage high school students and families during campus tours and visits. MTCC AmeriCorps Members will engage students in community service projects to increase peer mentoring and activities within the community and participate in required national days of service projects.
