United Way-Sacramento Region VISTA Leader

To be considered, you MUST have completed one successful term as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, AmeriCorps State/National member, or Peace Corps volunteer. United Way California Capital Region serves as the Sacramento region intermediary for the AmeriCorps VISTA program and is currently recruiting to fill 19 VISTA member positions at 13 host sites. We envision this cohort of VISTA members working with the VISTA Leader to share resources to help members be successful in their individual placements sites as well as coming together to help make our community a better place. The VISTA Leader will assist the VISTA Program Director with volunteer and host site management, facilitate VISTA gatherings/trainings, generate participation service events such as Day of Action and Day of Caring, improve upon current VISTA program administrative processes and help in gathering data from the host sites and members for the quarterly reports and application. The VISTA Leader will be a resource for VISTA members as a liaison between project sites and the state office. VISTA Leader will support VISTA members as they transition into service and throughout their year of service. The VISTA Leader will be met with great support from the Program Director and other staff at United Way California Capital Region as well as autonomy and flexibility to develop innovative ways to serve the VISTA members and project sites while enhancing the overall VISTA experience.
